missing nashville

I may have mentioned that I went to Nashville last week...just sayin'... I don't get out much, so when I actually grace another state with my presence I go on and on and on about it! Anyways, I'm totally missing Nashville right now because I'm bored, in my pajamas watching The Young and the Restless which is totally lame compared to meeting celebs and listening to rockstar wanna-bes sing their heart out in a town that never sleeps!

Celeb Sighting #2

I'm working backwards on my celeb sightings from last week... my 3rd was Travis Barker my new bff from Blink 182, which leads me to my 2nd...  Taylor Swift!! My friend married the guitarist in her band, so Lovely Miss Taylor was in attendance with her brother and parents! Let me just say that after seeing her in person and watching her dance her booty off...I'm officially in love! She is the cutest thing EVER!!

This is Taylor with the groom's sister. TRUTH: I was way to nervous to take this pic and one of my friends just grabbed my camera and took it for me! haha! (We were asked to pretend Taylor was a normal guest and respect her privacy...easier said than done! LOL!)

I'm totally being a creeper here. I'm sitting on the only bench in a small area with the flash off of my point and shoot...not looking and just snapping away...not to mention embarrassing my poor friend who kept reminding/asking me to leave T alone!

PLEASE ignore my horrific face and focus on Taylor in the background! I never got to chat it up with her, but we hung out in the bathroom a few times and she touched my arm...just sayin'! We did become besties with two of her friends though because we were all just a tad late for the wedding!

Now, I will definitely be at her next concert rocking out with all the 8 year olds that love her too!

Celeb sighting #3

Not to brag or anything, but I've had 3 celeb sightings in less than a week! I'm pretty sure I've maxed out my luck for life so I've got to ride this wave...hahaha! 

McTreaty and I stopped in at P.F. Changs Monday night and were about to be seated next to Travis Barker, the drummer from Blink 182 until someone asked for a booth instead...UGH (I'm pretty sure I'll never get over that!) Anyways, I asked McTreaty if he thought it really was Travis and he definitely agreed! Later, after I made a trip past him to use the bathroom and to confirm my celeb sighting, we saw a couple of girls asking for an autograph, then he was signing his check and getting ready to leave, so we knew it was now or never!

I seriously hated to be that girl that gets all star-struck, but I figured I'd never see him again anyways! He was SO incredibly nice and very, very skinny! AND are his kids not the cutest things ever? We found out that he just finished a European tour and his boat docked in Boston and he was passing through Oklahoma on his way to L.A. 

P.S. Did I mention that I LOVE his tattoos...well, I totally do!

Packing...

I am the WORST packer ev-er! I multi-task by catching up on all my recorded shows which actually means I'm just watching t.v. with an open suitcase on my bed! It has taken me literally all night to half-way pack. Sadly, I'm realizing how much I hate my clothes and the fact they are all a tad snug AND my spanks are no where to be found! ugh!

Anyways, I'm so excited to fly to Nashville for the weekend for a friend's wedding IF I can finish packing!

Hopefully I'm not the only one who does this....but I totally stalk my own pictures. I will look through the pics I've taken over and over and over... I usually come across a new favorite everytime, then by the 100th time they are all my favorites!

For some reason, I keep coming back to this pic of Matty. Maybe because he looks so serious and in deep thought which is RARE to see! Not to mention, I'm in a phase where I want to turn every pic black and white!

Crockpot Peanut Clusters

These are fabulous and only slightly addicting! My mom snagged this recipe from a friend at work several years ago and it has been a fave every since!

Layer in crockpot in ordered list 

(Do not stir for 2 hours and cook on low)

16 oz. salted peanuts (no skins)
16 oz. unsalted peanuts (no skins)
1 (4 oz.) Baker's German chocolate baking bar
1 1/2 packages (36 oz.) white almond bark
1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chips

*Chip or break up the baking chocolate and almond bark so it will melt better. After 2 hours stir until all is blended together and drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.

Football Season has begun...

I love football season! To be perfectly honest I usually have no clue where the ball is half the time and probably spend more time watching the cheerleaders than the actual game, but I still love it!

#5 is our guy...according to my mom his position is "the outside" we are very technical and obviously know our stuff!

School Grind

I hate that my to do list has doubled since school started! It seems like my laundry and house cleaning always get put on the back burner since I'm consumed with school stuff! or at least that's my excuse this month for not cleaning!

Sadly, there has also been zero craftiness going on here...

because IF my laundry and house cleaning are actually caught up, then I always have plenty of papers to grade...

and record in my trusty gradebook that is so 5 years ago! (Our school district purchased a new grading program and who knows exactly how reliable it will be when it's time for report cards, so I have a lovely, old-school backup!)

On the brightside, I have new pens which always make me happy! The teacher in me just can't get enough new school supplies!

And I hate to brag, but I have a rockin' new John Mayer bag to put my graded papers in! It's the small things in life that make me smile!
